TrailGauge Off-Road — Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 28, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how TrailGauge Off-Road ("TrailGauge," "we," "us") collects, uses, and shares information when you use our app, website, and services (the "Service"). The Service is operated by Zackerey Tiedeman Aguilar, operating as TrailGauge Off-Road, California, USA.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide

1.2 Information collected automatically

1.3 Information stored on your device

Much of your data — including pins, trips, routes, and your saved address book — is stored locally on your device and is not automatically sent to us. Postcard order information is transmitted to us (and our fulfillment provider) only when you place an order.

1.4 Payment information

When you make a purchase, payment is processed by third-party processors (such as Stripe, Apple, or Google). We do not collect or store your full payment card number. We may receive limited transaction information (such as confirmation, last four digits, or billing status).

2. How We Use Information

We use information to: - provide and operate the Service, including trail features, alerts, and postcard printing and mailing; - process and fulfill your postcard orders and manage subscriptions; - screen postcard content for compliance with our Terms (automated and/or manual moderation); - prevent, investigate, and respond to abuse, fraud, harassment, or illegal use, and to comply with law; - provide customer support; - maintain, secure, and improve the Service.

3. Postcard Content and Abuse-Prevention Retention

Because postcards are physically printed and mailed to real people, we may retain copies of postcard content and order details — including messages, images, location labels, and sender and recipient information — for a reasonable period in order to operate the service, enforce our Terms, investigate reports of misuse or harassment, and comply with legal obligations. This retention is described in Section 5.2 of our Terms of Service. We limit access to this information to what is needed for these purposes.

4. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run the Service:

5. Location Data Choices

You can control location access through your device settings. Because location is core to the app, disabling it will limit or disable key features (trail logging, navigation, inclinometer accuracy). Safety-related alerts may also depend on location.

6. Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the Service and for the purposes described in this policy, including abuse prevention and legal compliance. Locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it or uninstall the app. You may request deletion of information we hold (see Section 8).

7. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information. API keys and secrets for our payment and fulfillment integrations are kept server-side and are never stored in the app. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit use of your personal information, and to request we not sell it (we do not sell it). To make a request, contact us at the email below.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.

10. International Users

The Service is operated from the United States and intended for U.S. users. If you use it from elsewhere, you understand your information is processed in the U.S.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. We'll update the "Last updated" date and, for material changes, provide additional notice where appropriate.
